About
HJ Architects is a London-based design studio, founded in 2016 and based in Hampton. We are a boutique practice dedicated to creating thoughtfully crafted projects where detail, materiality, and spatial quality are paramount.
Our work spans both residential and commercial projects, including Lawnsmead Cottage and Diamond Cottage, set within the green belt and adjacent to conservation areas. Across each project, we strive to create buildings that respond sensitively to their context, respecting history while introducing contemporary elegance.
Light, materiality, and atmosphere are central to our approach. We use natural light to shape spaces and natural materials to enrich texture and tactility, producing architecture that is timeless, refined, and quietly confident.
We embrace complex briefs and challenging sites, finding clarity through careful analysis, innovative thinking, and creative problem-solving. Concepts are explored and communicated through sketches, models, drawings, and collaborative discussion, ensuring clients are engaged throughout the design journey.
At HJ Architects, we believe that thoughtful design enhances daily life. From the earliest stages, we work closely with clients to transform their vision into practical, imaginative, and contextually sensitive solutions that balance beauty, function, and cost-effectiveness. Our work aims not only to serve the people who inhabit it but also to contribute positively to the wider environment.
